Looking out over the heather-clad Highlands, slowly stalking across the gentle hills to finally get in range of a magnificent red deer is a powerful experience!
This type of hunting requires a wind and waterproof hunting suit that is light and mobile. You will be quite comfortable by packing an extra sweater, a bottle of water, or a thermos of hot drink in a lightweight backpack. Including a woolen coat in your pack will complete your needs. Some choose the more classic style with sixpencer and a wool blazer. This is not a bad choice because wool is great in hot or cold weather. It breathes well, and is also quiet and very comfortable as long as the wool is not dyblott. The thin Fjell cloth takes up very little space, and can be a great backup when the weather changes.
This type of hunting is generally the easiest to pack for, and if you feel a bit chilly after a day of spot and stalk hunting, just slip into the nearest pub and warm up with a good whiskey!!
